Academics at HCC

My name is Whitney, and I’m a 38‑year‑old professional entering the next phase of my career and education. After high school, I attended the University of South Florida, but due to major changes in my family life, I withdrew and entered the workforce.

For the next 17.5 years, I built a strong foundation in the telecommunications industry before transitioning into the electric utility field last year. These experiences shaped my technical skills, work ethic, and long‑term career goals.

I’m now returning to college to build on the experience I’ve gained, strengthen my academic foundation, and open new opportunities for advancement. While I’m still exploring the exact educational path I want to pursue, I’m especially interested in artificial intelligence and how it can be used to improve business operations, decision‑making, and efficiency. I want to understand how emerging technologies can support the next stage of my career and help me contribute more strategically in the workplace.

This website outlines my academic journey at Hillsborough Community College, the programs I may pursue next, my future career interests, and the technologies that inspire me.
